The America’s Conservation Enhancement (ACE) Reauthorization Act (H.R. 8811) is recently passed committee and is headed to the House floor. This bipartisan package is critical for the future of our $148 billion sportfishing industry and the 57.7 million anglers who cherish our waters. Led by Reps. @reprobwittman (R-VA) , @repdingell (D-MI), @repjenkiggans (R-VA) , and @repmikethompson (D-CA), this legislation will ensure better access, healthier habitats, and continued use of traditional tackle on public lands and waters.
Why It Matters:
✅ Reauthorizes the National Fish Habitat Partnership to protect and restore fish habitats.
✅ Continues funding for the Chesapeake Bay Program, reducing pollution in the nation’s largest estuary.

Last month, anglers and hunters came together at Virginia’s CF Phelps WMA with a mission: to clean up and give back. ASA’s VP of Government Affairs, Mike Leonard, joined the nationwide ‘Great Pack Out’ initiative led by @backcountryhunters. Mike shared, ‘Today’s activity provides a great opportunity for me to spend some quality time with my kids and to demonstrate how we can give back to others in our own community.’ A great day spent outdoors, making a difference!
